age 26: constrainers personality and still abstained completley from crime; show low levels of mental health, high marriage, university educated, high status job
age 40’s : non-offending group performed better than all other groups on adult outcomes
Age 56: abstainers are most successful with problem free lives

- maldaptive group
- low social status, low popularity
- perform well as not engaged in deviance - Adaptive group
- no defecits in social integration
- outperformed maldaptive group in education, employment etc
