The holy book of the Jews is the Hebrew Tanach. It is divided into three sections:
- The Torah (law books)
- Nebiim (prophetic books)
- Ketubim (poetic and other writings)
The most important section is the Torah, which is made up of the first 5 books of the Tanach. These books are also the first 5 books of the Cristian and Islam holy books. It is written on scrolls and contains the story of how the Jewish faith began. The Torah tells how a man called Moses led his people from slavery in Egypt to a land that God promised them. On the way, God called Moses and gave him a set of rules for the Jews to follow. Among these are the ten commandments. Jewish boys and men have to cover their heads with a yarmulke during prayer and worship.
