Presence of royal family -They stayed in london during the bombings and visited communities boosting morale
The king and Queen stood defiant in pictures depicting them both on top of rubble from buckingham palace
Presented equality and Britain showing everyone was suffering no matter wealth
Cabinet war rooms- stayed in the city so it did not look like they were abandoning the people. They stayed underground safe from the bombs

Many museums transported art into underground storage line the welsh quarries. Many stored treasures were also placed in unused tube stations
Sandbags were used to protect key buildings and stained glass windows were temporarily removed
The survival of St Pauls cathedral was a symbol of defiance against the german threat
Use of Public spaces
Dig for Victory-Government campaign . Encouraged civilians to grow their own crops due to rationing . Some crops were built over bomb sites
Spaces such as Victoria park were turned into allotments. The area around the tower of london also turned into an allotment
