Oxymoric idea of “infant” connoting innocence and “fear” connoting terror. Juxtaposing images show how childhood has been tainted.

Church covered in soot because of industrial revolution. “Black’ning” connotes to staining, shows how establishment of church is true religion. Jesus favoured agape but Blake thinks church neglects this and only cares for money
