This is a metaphor as its their minds that trapped and they are not actually physically trapped. “ the mind forged manacles is referring to the restraints that we put on what we can do or limitations that we set ourselves in terms of dreams and goals which is why they wanted equality in this poem so people were not at a disadvantage
“How the chimney sweepers cry”
“Every black’ning church appalls”
The “chimney sweepers” are infact the children being the chimey sweepers which they wanted to get rid of child workers in this poem
“Every black’ning church appalls” meaning they were covered with grime and dirt
Metaphorically the insitution of religion corruption etc
“Youthful harlots curse”
A harlot is a prostitute
Vocally swearing
Physically - Std they would have aqquired

Trying to control nature
