Analysis - 4 years and younger

A
  1. Lay child down prone, on your lap, parents lap, on the table or on a blanket on the ground
  2. Drop the diaper to examine the gluteal crease
  3. Apply lateral-medial pressure on both sides of the buttocks
  4. Use both hands with equal pressure (backs of hands)
  5. The gluteal crease will deviate toward the side of the AI-Sacrum

Analysis 5 years and older

A

Child standing. Look for

  1. Body rotation of lowest freely moveable lumbar
  2. Tense and strained lower erector spinae muscle
  3. Elevated iliac crest
  4. -D on the involved side
  5. Tight/tense tender posterior SI ligament

All found on the side of AI sacrum

Correction of AI sacrum

A

PP - prone with hip in flexion, propped up

DS - side opposite AI sacrum

CP - 4 years and younger = pad of pinky with hand SUPINATED
5 years and older = pad of thumb with the hand PRONATED

SCP - mid-point of the sacrotuberous ligament prober contact is the most important

LOC - starts A-P, I-S, M-L; ends A-P, I-S

SH - superior hand rests lightly over the lowest lumbar moving up the spine as the muscles relax until your reach the occiput
