- TMFF draws pure bore water from under the dunes…. ½ million liters of water taken every year, water is cold and needs to be heated

- Total reliance on nature

- Normally for Aquaculure, pond floors contain impervious soil (soil that water cant get through) such as clay
- However TMFF uses tanks
- TMFF requires a porous, sandy soil which allows for easy extraction of water

A
- Main market is Sydney
- Only 500 km away
- B/4 1988: The Sydney consumer= no live Barramundi available
- Live fish shipped to Sydney distributor in bulk transport truck
- Main markets is restaurants with fish tanks esp. in China Town, Cabramatta, Blacktown and Darling Harbour
- The restaurants become known for offering “Fresh Barramundi”
- A single distributer, provides fresh fish of a preferred size ( 600-800g) to Sydney restaurants who have their own live fish facilities
- They put salt in the water, don’t feed the fish → pruging to remove pellet taste
- A proportion of production= is used by own restaurant
- Supply distributors at Newcastle Vegetable Markets at sandgate, Local Suburban outlets and the IGA supermarket chain
