Contraindications to local anaesthetics

A
  • Known sensitivity (only absolute contraindication)
  • Confused patients
  • Young patients
  • Length of procedure - will LA still e working at the end of the procedure
  • Specific medical conditions - eg coagulations problems with spinals/epidurals
  • Infection near or at the site of injection - increase absorption and reduces effectiveness of LA
