- internal iliac vein to the vertebral venous plexus

Venous route through the internal iliac vein
what is an indirect inguinal hernia?
the peritoneal sac enters the canal through the deep inguinal ring
what is a direct inguinal hernia?
the peritoneal sac enters the inguinal canal through the posterior wall of the inguinal canal. the contents will emerge medially to the deep ring
what are causes of an inguinal hernia?
chronic cough constipation heavy lifting age obesity
what is a sliding hiatus hernia?
part of the stomach at the oesophageal gastric junction is pulled up through the diaphragm
what is a rolling hiatus hernia?
Part of the fundus extends through the diaphragm at a separate site to the oesophagus
what can be used to detect delirium?
CAM 1. acute onset and fluctuating course AND 2. inattention AND EITHER 3. disorganised thinking OR 4. altered consciousness
