Explain the circuit diagram of a Single-Phase Half-Wave Controlled rectifier circuit.
- Resistive Load
A
An AC Voltage supply, a thyristor and a resistor.
The + of Vs is connected to the thyristor which is forward biased and the resistor is connected to the negative of the thyristor in series. The resistor is then connected to the - terminal of Vs.
VT is the voltage across the thyrsitor.
Vo is the voltage across the resistor.
io is the current flowing between the thyristor and resistor.
For this circuit to work, a gate signal must be applied.
