What is the responsibility assignment matrix?

A

A chart or diagram showing assigned responsibilities for elements of work. It is created by combining the work breakdown structure with the organisational breakdown structure.

What is WBS and PBS? How do they differ?

A

WBS = Work Breakdown Structure
This, when combined with the OBS, shows who is allocated to complete work packets, ensuring clarity in task allocation. Also enables resource owners (line managers) to provide support as they are aware of the allocated tasks.

PBS = Product Breakdown Structure
When combined with the OBS, it shows the clear ownership of product development and there is aclar point of contact for product related info.

A

Responsible (Who carries out the task, can be delegated)
Accountable (Who is accountable to get the task done, cannot be delegated)
Consulted (Consulted in execution of the task)
Informed (Need to know the decision or action.)
