Fan belt
* Check the tension on the fan belt.
* The recommended tension is between 12-15mm.
* Tighten the belt via the alternator on the sliding bevel.

* Once oil is fully empty replace the sump nut and put on a new oil filter.
* Don’t forget to pour a small amount of oil into the filter and place oil on the seal to prevent cracks.

Changing oil and oil filter.
* Now top the oil up do this in stages to avoid overfilling.
* Use the dip stick to check the oil level.
* Make sure to clean the stick then dip and take out holding horizontal for a proper reading.

Changing the fuel filter, what to do?

Fuel filter change
* Turn off fuel with the small tap.
* Open sediment bowl using pipe grips.
* Replace the cartridge.
* Now turn the fuel tap back on.

Fuel filter change done, what to do next?

Service a Diesel engine

A

Bleed of the system
* Required to remove any trapped air from the system.
* Start on the bleed screw shown in class whilst trning the engine to remove any air and get a solid flow of fuel.
* Now go to injector 1, 2 and 3 open the injector using the spanner and turn the engine for a few seconds until a steady stream of fuel is achieved.
