Movement
Animals move from place to place. Plants open and close petals and turn to face the sun
Respiration
Respiration is the release of energy from food.
Sensitivity
Living things are aware of what is around them. Animals can react quickly. Plants react to light water and gravity slowly
Feeding
Plants make their own food. Animals need to eat plants or other animals to get energy
Excretion
Excretion is the removal of wastes that have been made in the body of a animal or plant. Sweat carbon dioxide urine and water are excreted by animals water and oxygen are excreted by plants

Vertebrates have a BACKBONE e.g human dog fish birds. Invertebrates do not have a backbone e.g. worms insects snails animals can move. Cannot make there own food
Plants
Plants are fixed in one position. Plants make their own food which is called photosynthesis
