Ancient Period

Renaissance.

English poems was brought to England by Sir Thomas
Wyatt.
The end of 15th century and the beginning of the 10th
century saw the height of Italian Renaissance.

adventurous and sentimental.
This type of writing is different
from orderly, logical and
restrained writing of classcists.
Romanticism
While Romanticism was still fashion in writing, realism, a new literary movement began to be popular. In literature, the term Realism may be applied to
any writing that seeks to portray life exactly as it is,
without embellishments or idealizations.
This applied to the stlye of such novelists as Gustav
Flaubert, in opposition to both romanticism and naturalism
Other writers in this movement are Bjornson, Andersen and Chekhov.
Realism Period
The 20th Century was brought many new writers and ideas.
Because of the progress and giant strides in all aspects of life, it is difficult to
keep track of the dimensions of literature and the various branches of knowledge.
