Activating Circumstance
AKA Inciting incident, sets the main conflict in motion
Active Voice
Arragnement of sentence so that subject does the action, instead of recieveing
“Victor grilled a steak for dinner”, instead of “A steak was grilled by Victor for dinner.”
Antagonist
The force against the protaganist.A
Anticlimax
An effect that spoils the climax. Usually used as comedic relief, to break tension.
Antithesis
Contrast of ideas expressed by parallelism of strongly contrasted words. Ye idk what this is.
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times” (from A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens).
“Give me liberty, or give me death!” (by Patrick Henry).
“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” (by Neil Armstrong).
