When the same words are used in a following clause, but the second time the structure of the phrase is reversed
Chiasmus
Two opposite or contrasting words, phrases, clauses, or ideals, with parallel structure
Antithesis
When a single word controls or modifies two or more other other words, and the meaning of the first word must change for each of the other words it modifies
Zeugma
The fictional mask or narrator telling a story
Persona
When a writer creates a list of items separated by conjunctions
Polysyndeton
When a word has two or more meanings and is used in a humorous way

Rhetorical Question
Literature with an idealistic (or unrealistic) view of people and the world. Also has an emphasis on nature. Does not rely on traditional themes and structures
Romanticism
A bitter, mocking comment that is ironically or satirically worded
Sarcasm
A work that has a critical attitude toward some part of life to a humorous effect. It targets human vices and follies, or social institutions and conventions. Good satire has three layers: serious on the surface; humorous when you discover that it is not reality; serious when you find the hidden point of the author
