Irony-The use of sarcasm throughout the selection to make a point, sarcasm or satire

The use of a non accurate word rather than the true word, used to spare some peoples feelings

An old saying or expression that should be avoided in written work

A comparison between two or more objects using like or as

A comparison between two object to emphasize a point
Apostrophe
To address a non living/living as if they were alive or present
Alliteration
When two or more words or phases begin with the same sound to emphasize a point
Hyperbole
An obvious exaggeration to emphasize a point.
Repetition
Repetition of words or phases to emphasize a point
Onomatopoeia
A word formed to imitate a sound
Personification
