Setting
The time and place in which the story takes place as well as social statuses, weather, historical period, and details about immediate surroundings.
People
Those who feature in the image.
Clothing
The apparel worn by those in the image.
Colours
The shades used in the image.
Composition
The arrangement of the elements within an image in a way that suits the core idea or goal of the author.
Foregrounding
The area that is closest to the viewer. (close up)
Background
The part of the overall scene that is behind the main subject of the image.
Caption
A title or brief explanation accompanying an image.
Triptych
An image containing three panels that are intended to be displayed together.
Superimposing images
The placement of an image or video on top of an already-existing image or video, usually to add to the overall image effect.
Stereotype
A widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.
Rule of thirds
A composition in which an image is divided evenly into thirds, both horizontally and vertically, and the subject of the image is placed at the intersection of those dividing lines, or along one of the lines itself.
Pixilation
A image zoomed up to a large size so that individual pixels, small single-colored square display elements that comprise the image, are visible.
Omission
A part of an image that has been left out or excluded.
Fish-eye image
An ultra wide-angle lens that produces strong visual distortion intended to create a wide panoramic or hemispherical image.
