Allusion
An implied or indirect reference to a person, event, or thing or to a part of another text
Rhetorical questions
A question asked in order to make a statement that does not expect an answer
Extended metaphor
Detailed comparison that last lines or even chapters
Metaphor
A figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or actin to whovh it is not literally applicable

A comparison to one thing to bother thing using like or as

Gibing human qualities or traits to something that is not living
Hyperbole
Exaggerated statements that are not meant to be taken literally
Mood
The emotion the author strive for the reader to evolke
Tone
The attitude that a character or narrator or author takes towards a given subject
Paradox
A statement, poor of stamens or idea that seems contradictory upon first glance
Situational irony
Irony where the opposite thing that is expected to happen happens resulting in humors or tragedic consequences
Alliteration
Repetition of the same sound to provide and audible pulse that has lyric
Theme
A central topic subject or message eothin a narrative
Memoir
Any nonfiction narrative writing based on the author person memories
Symbolism
A figure of speech in which a person, situation, word or object is used to represent another thing
