there are many terms used to describe different types of characters.
character types that are used again and again in stories are called character archetypes. one well known archetype is “the hero”.
what is Protagonist
a protagonist is a main character around whom most of the work revolves.
what is Antagonist
the person who is Protagonist is against.
- this is often the villain , nature and animals
what is major characters
they dominate the story.
they are important in the development of the plot. ( they move the story forwards)
what is stock or stereotypical characters
the author doesn’t need to tell us much about types of character, because we have encountered them before. for example high school bully, cheerleader
and Allen.
what is a Round Characters
a Round Characters have various and traits. protagonist are often round as well. for example the protagonist is smart, caring and Dedicated .
what is a Flat characters
the role of flat characters is to support of the main characters.
what kind of character is a Grinch
the Grinch is a dynamic character because he change through out the story.
what kind of character is Timon and
Pumbaa.
Timon and Pumbaa is a static characters because they stay the same.
