Rhyme
Depiction of two or more nearby words of the last stressed vowel and all the syllables that follow it
Sonnet
“Little song’ a poem that has fourteen lines using any number of formal rhyme schemes, in English usually having ten syllables per line

Meter
Reoccurring pattern of sounds that give poems it’s distinctive rhythms
Iambic Pentameter
A line if verse with five metrical feet, each consisting of one short(or unstressed) syllable followed by one long( or stressed) syllable
Ex. Two households, both alike in dignity
Conceit
An extended metaphor (often carried through an entire stanza or and entire poem)
Scansion
The act of scanning a line of a verse to determine its rhythm
Couplet
Two line of verse usually in the same meter and joining by rhyme, that form a unit
Imagery
Visual description of an object or sense
Auditory,Gustatory (taste),Olfactory (smell),Tactile (touch),Visual (sight),(Kinetic) (action)
