Symbol
Object, person, situation, or action that represents something else, usually a more abstract concept or idea, giving deeper meaning to the text.
Theme
The central idea or underlying message that an author explores throughout a story, often reflecting broader concepts about life, society, or humanity.
Thesis
The central argument or main idea that an author is trying to convey in a piece of writing.
Tone
The author’s attitude towards a subject, conveyed through word choice, sentence structure, and images.
Understatement (litotes)
Uses understatement to make something seem less intense or extreme than it actually is.
Unreliable narrator
Storyteller whose perspective is not fully trustwrothy, often due to their mental state, biases, or intentional deception.
