-he was frustrated with the fact he had a crush on the girl but had no chance of showing it to her.
-he was also frustrated at his uncle for being late and forgetting about him

-he describes as his neighborhood being dull but mangan’s sister is what made him happy and makes his “heart leap”
-he’s only physically attracted to her as he’s never spoken to her so he doesn’t know what she is like, he admires her from afar
