Character that undergoes some kind of change because of the action of the plot
What is a static character
Does not change
What is a foil
Helps to reveal the qualities of another character by comparing
What is a flat character
Has 1 of 2 qualities and is easily described
made to be boring
What is a stock character
lack individuality and used as a cliche
What is a round character
have more depth and require more attention
may suprise us
more difficult to summarize

Setting the scene
important character introduced
What is the conflict in a story
Drives the narraitive
“what’s at stake”
What is the rising action in a story?
“inticing incident”
Takes us from our normal world
What is the climax in a story
Most exciting and high point in story
“murderer is caught”
What is the resolution (falling action) in a story?
Sense of coming to a new point
What is the protagonist in a story
Main person
Better than other characters
What is a hero in a story
Someone who is moral or physically better than the other characters
What is an anit-hero in a story
Someone who is still strong and better than the character but does not always make the right descisions
what is the antagonist in a story
Main opposing person to the protagonist
Could be a villian, societal norms, or some force (not always a character)
What is chronology in a story
Timeline of event in historical order
What is plot in a story
How events are delt out to the reader
Includes suspense
