Definition: the emotional state of mind a reader might have when reading a story
Example: when reading Romeo and Juliet, you might go through a lot of these
Mood
Definition: a long speech by one actor in a play or movie, or as part of a theatrical or broadcast program.
Example: you have to do a lot of these if you are in drama
Monologue
Definition: the attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something nonhuman, or the representation of an abstract quality in human form.
Example: it was time to go home, but the bell refused to ring
Personification
Definition: the hero in a story, or someone who saves the plot
Example: superman was one of these
Protagonist
Definition: a poem of fourteen lines using any of a number of formal rhyme schemes, in English typically having ten syllables per line.
Example: you have to read a lot of these when in an English class.
Sonnet
Definition: a brief paragraph or so explains what a story is about
Example: sometimes we have to write these in our DRP’s
Summary
Definition: the general character or attitude of a place, piece of writing, situation, etc.
Example: sometimes this could be an angry one, or a happy one.
Tone
Definition: a very typical example of a certain person or thing.
Example: Romeo and Juliet could be this
Archetype
Definition: a claim made to rebut a previous claim.
Example: you have a lot of these when you’re a lawyer
Counterclaim
Definition: of or relating to the commissioning or preparing of material for publication.
Example: something that the author is usually involved in
