Q

LI- 3,4, 5 do you have to use some other imaging method to determine their likelihood of being HCC?
AND WHAT ARE THE PARAMETERS TAKEN?

A

yes,
LR-3- intermediate probabilty of hcc
LR-4- PROBABLY HCC
LR-5- DEFINITE HCC

A. ARTERIAL PHASE ENHANCEMENT
hypo- iso- enhancement( compared to liver) - lower risk
non- rim arterial phase hyperenhancement ( bright in the arterial phase)- High risk

B. TUMOR SIZE < 10mm- always classified as LR-3

10-19mm - Can be LR-3,LR-4 ,OR LR-5 depending on the additional features

> = 20MM - more likely to be LR-4 or
LR-5.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES( CAPSULE, WASHOUT , GROWTH)

NETIII

N- non peripheral washout( loss of contrast in later phase)
E- ENHANCING CAPSULE( suggests a growing tumor)
T- threshold growth( increased in size over time)
I- if none of these features are present-LR3
I-if one feature is present - LR4
I- if two or nmore features are present - LR-5 ( definite hcc)

Q

how many arterial phase enhancement type are there?

A

two types:-

ARTERIAL PHASE ENHANCEMENT

1.hypo- iso- enhancement( compared to liver) - lower risk
2.non- rim arterial phase hyperenhancement ( bright in the arterial phase)- High risk

Q

why does size matter in LR-3,LR-4, OR LR-5?

A

< 10mm- always classified as LR-3

10-19mm - Can be LR-3,LR-4 ,OR LR-5 depending on the additional features

> = 20MM - more likely to be LR-4 or
LR-5

Q

what are the additional features that increase the suspicion?

T- threshold growth( increased in size over time)
