Q

How does brown adipose getting tissue activated

A
  1. Cold/ diet signals activates SympNS which releases noradrenaline which stimulates B-3 adrenoreceptor.
  2. This makes Adenylate cyclase increase cAMP which activates protein kinase A.
  3. PKA which phosphorylates
    a) CREB-> increased production of UCP 1 protein
    b) Perilipin -> exposes the TAG
    c) HSL-> hydrolyses the fatty acids from TAG.
  4. Fatty acids go to the mitochondria to be oxidised
  5. They make FADh
