Management: Lip Laceration

A

Vermillion Border: 6-0 nonabsorbable monofilament (Ethilon)
IRRIGATE THEN
Mucosal Layer: 5-0 rapidly absorbable (Vicryl rapide) interrupted
IRRIGATE THEN
Orbicularis Oris: 4-0 absorbable (monocryl) interrupted
IRRIGATE THEN
Vermillion / Skin: 6-0 non-absorbabe monofilament (Ethilon)

Management: Intraoral Laceration

A

Small (< 1 cm) no treatment needed

Larger: 4-0 absorbable (vicryl rapide) - insert needel 2 to 3 mm from edge of wound. Interrupted 5-7 mm apart. Include only mucosa.
