Through chest wall, mid axillary line
What are chest drains used for?
Draining blood, fluid, air, postoperative care
What is the central venous catheter?
Catheter that is inserted into vein in right collar bone threaded to large vein in superior vena cava

What are EEG leads?
Cardiac monitoring wires, measures electrical activity in the heart
What are ICD?
Implantable cardioverter defibrillators, electrodes shocking, vena cava and right ventricle
What are the two types or pacemakers?

Used to deliver food/medication to stomach when difficulty eating/swallowing
What are chest drains?
Draining air, fluid, blood, postoperative care
Complication of chest drains
Lung injury, formation of pneumothorax, surgical emphysema
Placement of nasogastric tube
Midline following oesophagus, avoiding bronchi, cross diaphragm into left diaphragm
Placement of chest drain
Though chest wall mid axillary line
