Lines Flashcards
What does the outline line look like
It’s a Thick black line… for the outline
Projection line is used for what
Is the continuous line for projecting between views - its a thin outer line
The line which is used like an axis
The center line - shows direction of where it’s directed towards -
has a continuous thin dash and a dot
The hidden detail line
Used for stuff you wouldn’t show for hatching, sectoring etc.
This line with one dot and then a single dash repeated is used/called what
The fold line - shows where it’s gonna fold
Shows the grip marks of something
Knurling - in a diamond or diagonal angle
Lines used for showing when stuff has things hidden behind it in a drawing/sketch like a hole
hatching - at a 45 degree angle
why are orthographic drawings good for manufacturing
communicates sizes/dimensions
can show material
radial
communicates curves and arc measurements
rule for measuring tangency
if back to back like )( then add
if overlapping opposite of )( then take away
where two tangents touch and curve its called the tangent point
what is hatching/used for?
used to show cut area of different parts/different directions
done at 45 degree angle
stepped section
stepped section cuts through the object so we can clearly see the outer holes and holes on central part of object
(only used if component has holes)
what are Registration marks?
used to ensure the page remains aligned as it goes through the 4 printers in offset lithrotography
