Limitations Flashcards
What is required when an operating limitation is exceeded?
- Anytime an operating limitation is exceeded, an appropriate entry shall be made in the helicopter logbook
- Entry shall state which limit was exceeded, duration of time, extreme value attained, and any additional information essential in determining maintenance action required
How may persons is the helicopter approved for?
The basic helicopter is approved for seven place seating
What type of operation is the helicopter approved for?
The helicopter is certified for land operation under day and night VFR non-icing conditions
What equipment is required for operations in falling and/or blowing snow?
The Engine (Automatic) Re-Ignition and Snow Deflector Kits shall be installed
What is the Vne for flight with any combination of door(s) off?
- Vne is 100 MPH with any combination of door(s) off
What must be done before flight with any combination of door(s) off?
- All unsecured items must be removed from the cabin before flight
- Protracted rearward and sideward flight prohibited
- Actual weight change shall be determined after doors, etc., have been removed and ballast readjusted, if necessary, to return empty weight center of gravity to within allowable limits
What type of flight is prohibited with any combination of door(s) off?
Protracted rearward and sideward flight prohibited
What are the flight crew requirements?
- The minimum flight crew consists of one pilot who shall operate the helicopter from the right crew seat
- The left crew seat may be used for an additional pilot when the approved dual controls are installed
What is the altitude limitation?
Maximum operating pressure altitude is 20,000 feet
What is the airspeed limitation?
- Basic Vne is 150 MPH IAS sea level to 3000 feet density altitude
- Decrease Vne for ambient conditions in accordance with the Airspeed Limitations Placard
What is the Vne for the 88 to 100% torque takeoff power range?
Vne = 92 MPH
Are aerobatic maneuvers approved?
NO, aerobatic maneuvers are prohibited
What is the max approved gross weight for takeoff and landing?
Maximum approved gross weight for takeoff and landing is 4000 pounds
What is the minimum cockpit weight?
Minimum cockpit weight at fuselage station 65.0 is 170 pounds
What should be considered for passenger loading if both crew seats are occupied?
When both crew seats are occupied, only one mid-passenger is permitted unless there are two aft passengers
What are the lateral C.G. limits?
4.0 inches left of helicopter centerline
3.5 inches right of helicopter centerline
What engine is in the 206 LR?

What are the Power turbine (N2) operating limits?
Is the use of throttle to control RPM approved?
- Use of throttle to control rpm is not authorized
- Exceptions during emergency procedures
What are the Gas Producer (N1) limits?
What are the fuel pressure limits?
Should the boosts pumps always be on while the engine is running?
Fuel boost pumps shall be on at all times when the engine is operating
What are the engine oil pressure limits?
What are the engine oil temperature limits?
What are the torque limits?
What are the Turbine outlet temperature limits?
What may occur if the limits of 810C TOT or 100% Torque are exceeded?
Exceeding the limits of 810C TOT or 100% Torque may cause N1 topping with resultant rotor droop
When does the red warning light on the TOT gauge illuminate?
The light illuminates when either of the following condition are exceeded:
What are the starter limits?
What is the maximum ambient temperature for use of the engine anti-ice?
The maximum ambient temperature for use of the engine anti-ice is 4.4 C
When should the engine anti-ice be used?
Engine anti-ice shall be ON for flight in visible moisture in temperature below 4.4 C
What is the load-meter limits?
Maximum - 83%
What are the the transmission oil pressure limits?
What are the transmission oil temperature limits?
What are the grease temperature limits?
Grease is limited to an ambient temperature of -40 C and above
What are the Rotor RPM (Nr) limits - Power ON?
What is the transient rotor droop allowable?
Transient rotor RPM droop down to 95% is permitted, but should not exceed 5 seconds
What are the Rotor RPM (Nr) limits - Power OFF?
What is the max allowable weight in the baggage compartment?
