LIMB SUPPLY Flashcards
lateral muscles of scapula & shoulder
A: superficial cervical
N: suprascapular
stabilizers, flexors and extensors of shoulder: supraspinatus, infraspinatus, superficial pectoral
caudal muscles of scapula & shoulder
A: subscapular (thoracodorsal, caudal circumflex humeral)
N: axillary
flexors of shoulder: deltoideus, teres major, teres minor, latissimus dorsi
cranial muscles of arm
A: superficial cervical, axillary, brachial (bicipital, cranial circumflex humeral)
N: musculocutaneous
flexors of elbow, extensors of shoulder: biceps brachii, brachialis, coracobrachials
caudal muscles of arm
A: axillary, brachial (deep brachial)
N: radial
extensors of elbow: triceps brachii
cranial muscles of forearm
A: brachial (common interosseus -> cranial inter) median: deep antebrachial
N: radial
extensors of carpus and digits: extensor carpi radialis, superficial digital extensor, deep digital extensor, ulnaris lateralis, ECU
caudal muscles of forearm
A: brachial (com inter -> caudal & ulnar) deep antebrachial
N: median and ulnar
flexors of carpus and digits: DDF, SDF, FCR, FCU
dorsal paw
A: superficial brachial (off brachial through cranial antebrachial) dorsal carpal rete
N: radial
if damage to radial, causes knuckling and NO weight bearing
palmar paw
A: median (superficial palmar arch) & caudal interosseus (deep palmar arch)
N: ulnar & median - palmar common digital
both go through carpal canal w median & radial aa - ulnar is autonomous zone for palmar
cranial thigh muscles
A: lateral circumflex femoral (off femoral) illiolumber
N: femoral
flex hip/extensors of stifle: quadriceps, sartorius, illiopsoas
saphenous is autonomous zone for this
perineal
A: internal pudendal (ventral perineal), cadual gluteal (off internal iliac)
N: genitofemoral & pudendal
butt: cremaster, external anal sphincter, levator ani, coccygeus etc & skin of inguinal region, prepuce, scrotum fascia etc, proximal medial thigh
medial thigh muscles
A: deep femoral, caudal femorals (proximal, medial and distal)
N: obturator
adductor of pelvic limb: adductor, pectineus, gracilis, external obturator
caudal thigh muscles
A: deep femoral (medial circumflex humeral deep & transverse), cadual gluteal, caudal femorals (prox, medial, distal)
N: sciatic
extensors of hip, flexors/extensors of stifle: semimembranosus, semitendonosus, biceps femoris
cranial muscles of crus
A: cranial tibial (etension of popliteal)
N: fibular (off sciatic)
flexors of tarsus, extend digits: cranial tibial, fibularis longus, long digital extensor
lateral cutaneous sural zone of left crus
caudal muscles of crus
A: popliteal, distal caudal femoral
N: tibial (off sciatic)
extend tarsus, flex digits: gastrocnemius, popliteus, sdf, ddf
caudal cutaneous sural zone
dorsal paw
A: saphenous & dorsal pedal (part of fibula)
N: fibula super and deep
causes knuckling over
