Where is the fire?
What is the quickest route to that location?

Question 3

Hazards

Answer 3

• Is there anything inside that could cause harm to crews? (Consider generic hazards associated with incident type, but also interrogate any incident-specific hazards that may be present)
• Do you have to take any special precautions with anything in the building?
• How is this likely to behave if involved in fire?
• Where are the hazards in relation to the fire/any known persons?
• Location of utilities isolations?

Question 4

Building

Answer 4

• Can you provide/draw a plan of the layout of the building? (Specify what features need to be included, such as entry points, location of utilities isolation, known/suspected locations of persons, location of fire etc.)
  What materials are used in the construction of the building? (e.g., LISPS, asbestos)
• Is the building generally in good order? Is there any work being undertaken?
• Are the internal doors likely to be closed? Is it open-plan?
• Are there any active or passive fire protection systems present? How could these be used/isolated if needed?

* Nearby/adjacent properties (Consider the potential for escalation - if the fire spreads where is it going?)
