Light And Optics⚡️🔥☀️🌟💡 Flashcards
If there is an opaque surface will light travel through, and what does it create?
The light would not travel through and the light would create a shadow.
Examples of natural light ( 3 examples)
The sun, lightning, and stars, all are examples of natural light.
What does LED stand for?
Light Emitting Diodes
Say a suing light hits something shiny or reflective, what two things will happen?
The light that shines on the shiny, or reflective inject will bounce off and travel to a different place. It will also create a shadow.
What type of light bulb will last longer, a LED, or a regular lightbulb?
The LED will last longer since it is more efficient than a regular bulb.
Where does electricity always want to travel to?
Electricity always want to travel downwards.
Why do lightning bolts crack into different directions?
It cracked into different directions because when the lightning bolt rips through air and the electricity follows down the line it realizes that it didn’t rip through all the way, it goes back up its mistaken trail and continues down the fastest smartest way down to the ground
What type of light is a light bulb, artificial or natural?
A light bulb is artificial light.
What can light do when it hits an object of any type?
The light can turn into different types of energy.
What is bioluminescence?
Bioluminescence is when an animal has a light in it, or part of it will start to glow
Firefly’s
What type of lines do light travel in?
Light travels in straight lines.
What is the Ray model of light?
The Ray model of light is a model that shows the straight rays going through, stopping, reflecting, and or creating a shadow on different types of surface
What can rays do when they hit an object?
Rays can either reflect, go through, or deflect of of any surfaces.
What is incandescent light?
Light that travels through a thin wire and makes it really hot so that it starts to glow.
An old school lightbulb
What is a fluorescents light?
Light that has energy tear apart air just slightly trying to get to the ground, which gives off light energy.
