Light Flashcards
What does Transparent mean?
Transparent materials transmit light which means you can see through them
What does translucent mean?
Translucent materials transmit some light but not all which means you cannot see clearly through them.
What does Opaque mean?
Opaque materials absorb light which means you cannot see through them and a shadow is formed behind them.
What is refraction?
Refraction is the change in angle of light when it passes from one transparent medium to another. This happens because it changes speed.
What is the job of the lens?
To focus light
What is the job of the cornea?
To protect the eye
What is the job of the iris?
It changes size to contract/dilate the pupil
What is the job of the pupil?

What is the job of the optic nerve?
To send an electrical signal to the brain
Sends an electrical signal to the brain
What do you call an object which produces light?
And its antonym
