Testerone:
Hormone that causes boys to develops deeper voices, bigger muscles and body and facial hair and also stimulates the production of sperm.
Va deferens:
Muscular tube that transports semen, sperm to urethra
Semen:
Compose of sperm and seminal liquid produced by the prostate gland and seminal vesicles
Epididymis:
Set of coiled tubes(one for each testicle) that connect to the vas deferens. And is where sperm is stored and mature.
Scrotnum:
Bag of skin that helps regulates the temperature of testicles, to be kept cooler than body temperature to produce sperm.
Seminal vesicle:
Sac- like structures that secrete high fructose concentrations to provide energy for the sperm as it travels through the female reproductive systems.
Urethra:
Part of the urniary system, channel through which urine passes as it leaves the bladder and the body.
Cowper’s gland:
Located near the urethra, produces pre- ejaculate
Pre- ejaculate:
Fluid that helps to lubricate the urethra for sperm to pass through and help flush out residual urine or foreign matter.
Testis:
Produces and store sperm and produce testosterone
Prostate gland:
Makes an alkaline secretion to add to sperm. This helps to neutralise acidity in female reproductive statement.
Uterus:
Site of foetal developement
Vagina:
Birth canal and site of deposition of sperm.
Fallopian tube:
Duct carrying the egg from the ovary to the uterus. It is the site of fertilisation.
Ovaries:
Produce, store and release eggs through fallopian tube into the uterus. Also produce estrogen and progesterone.
