Describe each stage of a life cycle of a star
A cloud of dust, rock and gas will form a nebula.
gravity causes fusion reactions, turning the nebula into a protostar.
The protostar will turn into a main sequence star, through fusing hydrogen nuclei into helium nuclei.
the main sequence star will carry on undergoing fusion until hydrogen runs out in the core. This is where our sun is at.
The main sequence star will turn into a red giant as the surface cools. During this time, heavy elements are formed in the core
The red giant becomes unstable and fusion stops
The star becomes smaller and smaller until it becomes a white dwarf
which is the dense core
The white dwarf emits energy in the form of light. Overtime, the white dwarf emits less energy and gets called a black dwarf
