17 December 2010 when Tunisian Mohamed Bouazizi set himself on fire in protest of police brutality and humiliation he died a few days after
-This sparked a wave of protests that soon gathered momentum and spread like wildire across the regio

The only real success story of the arab spring, dictator Ben Ali ousted days after the riots started and the country transitioned peacefully to a democracy; moderate Islamists accepted electoral defeat
