Arguments against Liberal Education (2)
- Leads to moral relativism
- Increases the likelihood of people accepting false or harmful ideas
Moral relativism:
- Suggests that there are no universal moral truths, and all ideas are completely valid
Descriptive Judgements
Describe facts about the world without making any moral assessments
Normative Judgements
Evaluate the world, stating whether something is good, bad, obligatory or permissive

Epistemic Normative Judgement
Judging the truth, knowledge or understanding of a persons belief
Aesthetic Normative Judgement
Judging beauty to aesthetic value
Prudential Normative Judgement
Judging what makes peoples lives better
Moral Normative Judgement
Judging actions or beliefs based on their effects on others
When is an argument valid?
Where it is impossible for the premises to be true and the conclusion to be false
Why might someone assume a liberal approach is incompatible with religious upbringing?
Liberal education promotes freedom of thought, conflicting with certain religious doctrines that expects people to adhere to specific beliefs.
