In his creation Under the Mango Tree, he presented the simple life in the province while making the audience feel that simplicity is beauty.
Fernando Amorsolo
He drew and painted genre paintings inspired by the life of his town, Angono Rizal - the Art Capital of the Philippines.
One prime example is his “Magpupukot” which shows the bayanihan among fishermen in Rizal.
Carlos “Botong” Francisco
This filipino literature artist is Nick Joaquin, a Manileño novelist, playwright, journalist, historian, and essayist.
He started
writing under the pen name of Quijano de Manila for the Philippine Free Press Magazine, chronicled the diverse heritage of the Philippines, and
gave his opinion about the culture of his time for decades.
Some of his notable works include the novel The Woman Who Had Two Navels (1961) which examines various Filipino heritages, the novel Cave
and Shadows (1983) which occurs in the period of martial law under Ferdinand Marcos, and Candido’s Apocalypse (1979) which re-imagines
postcolonial Philippines.

Nena Saguil
She was the founder of the Philippine Art Gallery which the first official meetings place of artist.
Lyd Arguilla
She was the founder of the Art Association of the Philippines (AAP).
Purita Kalaw-Ledesma
She is a doctor in retired professor in the University of the Philippines. She is a multi-awarded educator, and cultural worker.
