Mixed hepatocellular and cholestatic picture
What is a raised GGT suggestive of?
Cholestasis
Esp when combined with a raised ALP
If ALT is higher than AST what does this suggest?
Chronic liver disease
If ALP is raised but isolated, what does this suggest?
Bony metastases/primary bone tumours
Vitamin D deficiency/ recent bone fracture
If AST is higher than ALT what does this suggest?
Cirrhosis
Acute alcoholic hepatitis
What are low levels of albumin caused by?
Liver cirrhosis
Inflammation of the liver
Nephrotic syndrome
What does increased prothrombin time indicate?
Hepatocellular injury
When a patient presents with normal urine, normal stools and increased bilirubin, what does this indicate?
