What happens to combined pronouns in infinitive constructions or with modal verbs?
In infinitive constructions the combined pronouns are attached to the end of the infinitive.
In constructions with modal verbs the pronouns may either precede the conjugated verb or attach to the infinitive.
Are you selling your car to Giuliana?
Yes, maybe I’ll sell it to her.
I’m thinking of selling it to her.
I’d like to sell it to her.
- Vendi la tua macchina a Giuliana?
- Sì, forse gliela vendo.
Penso di vendergliela.
Vorrei vendergliela (or Gliela vorrei vendere).
I’m sending them the package.
