Dose changes take 4-6wks to take effec

Monitoring
A
TSH test every 2-3mo until stable
When stable –> check annually

SE
A
Rare when thyroxine levels are stable (as its replacing a hormone)
Dose too high –> hyperthy sx –> V, diarr. palpitations, heat intolerance
Dose too low –> hypothy sx –> cold intolerance, constipation
