levels of organization Flashcards

1
Q

List and Define the six levels of organization.

A

Chemical- human cells composed of 60%-80% water.
Tissues- groups of cells
Cells- basic unit of all living things
Organs- two or more tissues that work together to perform a specific function.
Systems- group of organs/ components working together to perform a specific function.
Body/Organism- individual form of life- body made up of organelles or organs that work together to carry on life.

Q

Explain the differences between the 3 types of muscle tissue.

A

Striated, control over our body & limbs.
Non Striated, these muscles contract on their own / inconscious control.
Cardiac, Striated appearance - involuntary
