Levels of Organisations Flashcards
The two chemical levels
Inorganic and Organic categories
Inorganic Chemical Level
chemicals made from simple molecules made of one or more elements other than carbons
Examples of Inorganic Chemicals
Water, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide and Minerals such as Iron, Calcium and Sodium
Organic Chemical Levels
very complex and always contain the elements carbon and hydrogen
Examples of Organic Chemicals
Carbohydrates, Fats, Proteins, and Nucleic Acids
Organelles
Membrane enclosed structures contain within cells with specific shapes and sizes that enable the cell to function as a unit
Examples of Organelles
Nucleus, Mitochondria and Endoplasmic Reticulum
Cells
The smallest living units of structure and function
Tissues
a group of cells with similar structure and function
Name the tissues
Epithelial Tissue, Connective, Muscle, Nerve Tissues
