Talk me through when you have developed tender documentation?
I have developed single stage tender documentation for Priestlands School, changing room refurbishment. This includes drawings and specification, pre-construction information, asbestos surveys, tender sum analysis, form of tender, instruction to tenders & preliminaries, tender invitation letter & certificate of bona fide tender (They have not colluded with any other party to fix or adjust the tender price).
What was the detail of the Collateral Warranties for Priestlands School?
The Collateral Warranties required for Priestlands School was the JCT Sub-contractor Collateral Warranty for the Employer. This was noted in Clause 7.3 of Section A20 of the NBS preliminaries document. This was for the M&E design, and external aluminium doors (South Coast Windows Ltd. PI £5m, executed as a deed. Net contribution clause excluded (risk of loss or damage gets put onto the Client if NET C Clause is applied). Without it each party is jointly liable.
What specific documents did you include in the tender documents for Priestlands School?
Ideal Standards sanitaryware schedule and performance specification for the aluminium external doors as part of the CDP item.
Talk me through how you issued the tender addendums for Sun Hill School?
I issued the tender addendums by collating the updated information including architectural drawings showing a revised ceiling plan and issue sheet and produced a tender addendum document noting the updated architectural drawings including the date, project, client and drawing numbers. I then issued the tender addendum to all the contractors via a Share Point System using individual folders at the same Time to maintain fairness and confidentiality. I also issued a schedule of questions by all the contractors but made anomalous so that all the Contractors had the same information as each other.
With example, how did you check the quantitive returns for Sun Hill School?
For Sun Hill School - reroofing works I checked the quantitative returns by collating the three tender returns by checking for any mathematical errors. As it was Alternative 2 confirmed tendering errors to the Contractor who could confirm or amend the errors arriving at the new tender sum. I collated each tender together into a Tender return summary sheet. I reviewed the comparison costs for preliminaries, overheads and profit percentages and ensured all the provisional sums and works were included in the costs with no exclusions noted. I compared against the pre tender estimate. Westmade had the lowest tender return, overheads and profit 10%. Approx £620k tender return
With example how did you check the qualitative returns for Sun Hill School?
I sent the tender returns to all designers for their technical input into the submission. For Westmade I checked for issues relating to errors in programme dates, qualifications that render the tender null and void. For example I reviewed their work completed on other school projects, the proposed team for the project, there programme.
