What is the role of neutrophils?
A
Neutrophils migrate out of the blood and into tissue where they are needed. They increase in numbers during bacterial infection, stress and exercise.

A
Lymphocytes sit in the lymph nodes and screen lymph. They’re numbers increase during viral infection.

What is the role of monocytes?
A
Monocytes mature into macrophages in the tissue. They are important in clearing debris and increase in numbers during infection, inflammation and tissue damage.
