Lesson 7 - Frames Flashcards
1
Q
How are Frames structured?
A
- Frames are a type of knowledge structure
- Consists of “slots” (bold attributes) and “fillers” (attribute values)
- For more complex frames, you can add frames for nouns that are connected via a pointer to the filler spots.
2
Q
What are the 3 properties of frames?
A
- They represent stereotypes
- They provide default values
- They exhibit inheritance (similar to OOP)
3
Q
For examples of how you can apply frames to other knowledge structures.
A
1) Semantic Networks
- Build a frame for each image object
- Can capture the object attributes and relationships with other objects
- To represent relationships, you can also just apply a variable as a filter that represent other frames.
2) Production Systems
- Working memory for Product Systems is really a frame.
- Can also be stored in Semantic memory and viewed as conceptual knowledge.
