Importance of Moral Theories and Mental Frames:
Moral theories are necessary to critically evaluate existing social practices and attitudes—to reveal through argument what is wrong with them and to show how and why they need to be changed.
Mental frames are essential to see yourself or positively program your thoughts to convince yourself to make good decisions in difficult or complex situations.
Role of Mental Frames in Moral Experiences:
- Mental Frames helps humans think and see things in a positive way, especially when it comes to situations requiring solutions.
- Without mental frames, the way humans solve problems will always be done in a negative way, resulting to disastrous consequences.
- Considered a dominant mental frame because it is present in all people in society
- All members of the community are bounded together by the pursuit of common goals and values.
- This focus ensures that the social policies, social systems, institutions, and environments on which we depend are beneficial to all
