Why was the Tabernacle constructed by the Israelites during their journey to Canaan?

What was the purpose of the Altar of Sacrifice, and where was it located?
The Altar of Sacrifice, made of acacia wood overlaid with bronze, was located at the entrance of the court. Animals and birds were regularly sacrificed there, producing a distinct smell from the burning meat and smoke.
How did the Tabernacle represent God’s presence during the Israelites’ journey?
After the erection of the Tabernacle, the cloud covered the Tent, and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle. The Lord spoke to Moses from the Most Holy Place, between the Cherubim, indicating His presence.
